About us

The Investigation Unit for the Elderly consists of approximately 40 employees and is centrally located in Umeå. We meet individuals aged 65 and older who need support and assistance due to the consequences of aging. We process applications, investigate, and make decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and follow up on interventions to ensure that needs are met.

Your tasks

As a social worker, you will:

• Receive applications and reports
• Investigate and make decisions according to SoL, supported by the IBIC model (Individual Needs in Center)
• Document and follow up on interventions
• Collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other stakeholders

You will meet people in various life situations and provide support and guidance. The role requires independence, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize, but also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of future elderly care.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work
• Experience in public authority work where you have conducted investigations and made decisions based on the Social Services Act (SoL)
• Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• A valid B driver's license

Additionally, it is an advantage if you have experience in public authority work according to SoL with a focus on elderly care, and if you have knowledge of Sami or Finnish.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and flexible. You have a good ability to prioritize and collaborate with internal and external parties. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Employment information

The positions are summer temporary, full-time, from June 1, 2026, to August 23, 2026, or by agreement. In May, there will be training on a temporary employment basis.
